Having provided senior care for over fifty years, Alabama Oaks maintains a rich history in Olde Winter Park. The facility was originally established to accommodate the overflow of visitors to the famous Alabama Hotel, our neighbor down the block. As guests aged over the years, many decided not to return North, and, eventually, the facility evolved into an elder care facility.
Throughout the years, the facility’s intimate environment has promoted a family-like atmosphere where staff and residents interact on a personal level. And our devoted and caring personnel have decades of experience in providing senior care.
Meet our Management Team:
Carmen Salli
Facility Supervisor
With over 20 years experience as a caregiver, Carmen has devoted her life to caring for our seniors. She is a warm and wonderful woman who knows just how to make someone feel at home. As she puts it, “I love to care for people. It is a commitment I have made with my life’s work.”
Carmen joined Alabama Oaks in 1998 as a resident caregiver and was promoted to facility supervisor two years later. Currently, she oversees our care-giving staff and manages all daily operations at the facility.
Carmen is a mother of five children and ten grandchildren. She is an excellent cook with a wide range of specialties from Southern cooking to Caribbean.
Shannon Regan
Marketing and Activities Director
Shannon brings a youthful exuberance as our Activities Director. Our residents love her kind and uplifting personality and always look forward to the new activities and events she has in store. Whether it’s art class, bingo, or a trip to see a current movie; Shannon fills our residents’ days with happy moments.
A local Winter Park resident, Shannon lives right near the facility with her fiancé and two dogs, Faith and Penelope.
Carmen, Shannon and the rest of our care-giving staff — including Natlyn, Tiffany, Veronica, Emma, Naomi and Angela — are a large part of what makes Alabama Oaks so special.
